LOCAL GIRL STILL MISSING

Jessie Planter is still missing. Despite extensive searches by the County Sheriff's office and local Townsfolk, she has not been seen for five days now, and hope must be fading fast.

Sherrif Dwight Menascall is quoted as saying:
"She was last seen playing in the Bayou, it's a dangerous area even for hill folk. We've had men searching the area for the last five days but to be honest anything could have happened to her."

DE MONTFORD MINE SET TO CLOSE:

In a second blow for the local community it has been announced that the De Montford mine is set to close at the end of the month.
Productivity has slumped since the death of David De Montford two years ago.
