Gameplay

PlayStation

When he is first approached by the Gunslinger, Bill will say:

  • "Please go after my son. I will pay you with my life if only to see his face again."

If you linger around, he will say:

  • "Please hurry I fear time is running out."

You can talk to Bill about the following:

  • Tell me about the Town.
    • "Me and my son went into that town, weird name of SilverLoad. We went there to buy supplies and maybe catch up on whats[sic] been going on. The folk there were very unfriendly, the place felt as cold as a graveyard . As we left that unholy place I swear that storm followed us."
      • The storm?
        • "Fierce thing it was! I thought we were going to be swallowed up by the sand! I thought I saw shapes moving in the storm, but I guess it was just the sand gritting up my eyes. I know better now."
  • How did you get here?
    • "We have been on the trails now for about a year, we were heading for the frontier Mister. Me, my dear departed wife and our son Ben have travelled with the Catlins all of this time. After Mary, God rest her soul, died the Catlins kept me strong 'an helped me keep it together with Ben."
      • The Catlins?
        • "John and Joanne Catlin. Joanne has been like a mother to Ben since the death of my Mary. She is a good woman but I don't think she's warmed to you much."
  • Tell me about your Son.
    • "My boy will soon be nine years old. I pray to God you can bring him back to me!"
  • About the Raid?
    • "It was last night when they came screaming from that storm! It was as if they had come just for the children. John managed to get a shot at one of the raiders, but took a bullet in return and now lies wounded in his wagon. The devils took Ben and there was nothing we could do. I would go after them myself but I dare not leave the others here unprotected. DEVILS!"
      • Devils?
        • "Devils in the bodies of men! Eyes like the fires of Hell! Lord protect us all."
  • I feel exhausted, can you help?
    • (first time only) "I`ll give y` what I can Mister." (gives dried beans)
    • (after first time) "I would help y` but I have nothing more to give."
  • Inventory.
    • (if you try to give him the Catlins Bible) "That looks like the Catlins Bible, you keep it Mister."
    • (if you try to give him your gun) "If you are to find my son you`ll need your gun."
    • (if you try to give him other items) "Thank you mister but you keep it."
  • Goodbye.
    • "Please hurry I fear time is running out."

If you ask him about the same topic again, he will say:

  • "I've told you everything I know."

You can talk to Bill about the following:

    • "Me and my son went into that town, weird name of SilverLoad. We went there to buy supplies and maybe catch up on current events. The folk there were very unfriendly, the place felt as cold as a graveyard. As we left that unholy place I swear that STORM followed us."
      • The storm?
        • "Fierce thing it was! I thought we were going to be swallowed up by the sand! I thought I saw shapes moving in the storm, but I knew nothing could survive in all that choking dust. I know better now!"
  • Tell me about your travels.
    • "We have been on the trails now for about a year, we were heading for the frontier Mister, we want a better way of life in Gods[sic] new country. Me and my dear lost wife and Ben have travelled with the Catlins all of this time. Some six months ago my wife was bitten by a snake and died shortly afterwards, I almost couldn't go on without Mary but the CATLINS have helped me all of this time.
      • The Catlins?
        • "John and Joanne Catlin. Joanne has been like a surrogate mother to Ben since the death of my Mary. She is a good woman but I don't think she approves of your help Mister."
  • Ask about his Son.
    • "My boy will soon be nine years old. I pray to God you can find him for me Mister!"
  • What about the Raid?
    • "It was last night when they came screaming from that storm! They were like devils from hell itself! It was as if they had come just for the children, John managed to get a shot off at one of the raiders, but he just picked himself up even though he had a hole through his chest John took a bullet in return and now lies wounded in his wagon. The devils took Ben and there was nothing we could do, they fled into the storm howling like banshees. I would go after them myself but I dare not leave the others here unprotected. DEVILS!"
