'''Rift Gates''' are devices that were created by the servants of [[Primal:Abaddon|Abaddon]] and [[Primal:Arella|Arella]] to make it easy to travel between the [[Primal:Nexus|Nexus]] and the [[Primal:Oblivion|demon realms]] (and within the realms themselves). They are magical devices based around two large wheel-handles that can be spun up to very high speeds, generating power and allowing a 'rift' to form within the centre of the gates. The user may then walk through, as if through a doorway, emerging on the other side of another Rift Gate at a completely different point in Oblivion.

While Gates in the Nexus are always open and paired with specific Gates in each of the four realms, Gates outside of the Nexus can link either back to the Nexus, or to any other Gate within the same realm.

[[Rift Gates]] are Stargate like structures used as a travel network in [[Oblivion]]. Rift Gates within a [[Four Realms | Realm]] can be used to travel back to the [[Nexus]], or to any other Rift Gate in the Realm that Jen or Scree have previously visited.

In the [[Nexus]], the [[Rift Gates]] to the Elemental Realms are set at the four cardinal points of the compass, as follows
 
* North - Aquis - water - Symbol in the Nexus is a trident
* South - Volca - Fire - Symbol in the Nexus is a bowl of fire.
* East - Aetha - Air - Symbol in the Nexus is a spearpoint with secondary spearpoints to either side.
* West - Solum - Earth - Symbol in the Nexus is a "u" shape, wiht tips curved to the right.
